Transfer procedure, documents and costs
Before signing
First verify that the rights remain in force and that the transferor matches the register. Co-owner consent, licenses and security interests may affect the transaction. An assignment requires coordinated contract and recordal work.

Registration numbers, an asset schedule, and accurate party names and addresses
Assignment documents or evidence of another recordal basis, such as a merger

Document validity, originals and signing requirements depend on the jurisdiction and transaction. Changes to pending applications differ from assignments of registered rights.

The published fee example is KRW 40,000 per right. The applicable fee depends on the right, transaction type and filing date and must be confirmed.
Local registration taxes
The published example is KRW 21,600: KRW 18,000 registration tax and KRW 3,600 local education tax. Applicability and the number of taxable recordals are reviewed.
Stamp tax
Determined by whether the document is taxable and its stated transaction value.
Professional and overseas fees
We provide a quote in advance based on the number of rights, the transaction structure and any local counsel, translation or legalization work required.
We reconcile owner names, addresses and customer identifiers, checking the register against the transaction documents.
Coordinated timing and follow-up
We prepare the documents needed for the rights, jurisdictions and transaction involved, provide progress updates and address document deficiencies through to completion of the recordal.
M&A and business transfers
