AI Times has published Yongduck Kim's analysis of OpenAI's patent on invoking external APIs through natural-language instructions.
This time, the patent is about a technology that automatically calls an external API with the user's natural language input and receives the result and responds again with natural language. Based on U.S. patent US 12,124,823 B2 registered by OpenAI, LLM learns the structure and function of the API based on the manifest file published by the external API provider, and then selects and calls the appropriate API according to the user's instructions to process the result.
